As you know I have only just started playing FM4 so I'm still learning the ins and outs and I was just wandering if anyone actually uses sim steering ?
I have been using it because I assumed it would be made faster and more realistic .. especially for wheel users . I must say tho , its near impossible to catch a slide in a powerfull rwd car and it gets frustrating at times ( nearly impossible to race).I just put this down to me being a noob again and in need of practice ..
Well I was in a lobby tonight , practicing for a an upcoming race series with a few lads and they seem to think that noone uses sim steering because its broken . What do you guys think ? do any of you use sim steering ? will it make me faster or more consistant if I turn it off?

I've used sim steering since first trying it in the demo. I turned it off once on the demo and tried to drive one of the cars (I think the Zonda) and it felt like it was pushing a lot with it turned off and have had sim steering turned on since then. This is based on me using a controller. I may try turning it off again at some point and see if I notice as much difference now as I did on the demo.

I guess I'm just going to have to do some experimenting . There seems to be alot of mixed views on the subject over at the .net site .

I use a controller and sim steering as well. Just never tried it the normal way since the game came out.

I recently purchased a new gaming tv and I remember playing FM4 on it for the first time........................it felt like I couldnt control ANY car. Oversteering, then over correcting and back and forth down the track till I wrecked. I thought it was my tv and I had to get used to it. But I checked my difficulty and it was set to sim steering. I have since changed it back to normal and I dont have any problems. I guess sim steering doesnt suit my style lol. I use a controller.

Well after some testing , I cant say its any faster in normal mode but its certainly far less frustrating and more consistant .

sim steering for me also, the cars seem to have to much understeer to me with normal,I do know that for drifting to use normal cause the car won't oversteer as much and the car is easier to control but as far as hotlapping I cant drive normal, sim seems much easier to corresct to me,I have a problem with every car seeming to understeer anyway,I guess cause I brake so late and I'm a freight train on the track with no finesse and that makes a loose car,to me easier to drive.
