I recently joined the IFCA Racing League ifca.highforum.net/forum.htmAs I hope you guys know PBT is my favorite Gagage in Forza. I want to ask you if you could sponsor me (8 Bit Racing) in the Spec Race Season 9. In return for your help tuning and painting I of coarse would advertise the garage and pay 30% of my Total winnings. (EDIT) Now that I have built the car I realize that the only thing tunable is the brake pressure and tire pressure and rear areo. Do those even make that much difference? So I guess can you painters help me design a livery for my car. It runs over 8 weeks with races at 7:00 PM CST Thursday nights. There are still spots left if any of you would consider racing with me possibly under a PBT team. ifca.highforum.net/specracing-f109/

There are a few variables in what you are asking. What drive are you using? What tracks are you running?

Well I Finished week3 Laguna Seka couple hours ago figured I give you guys an update. There are 78 drivers in the series. Week one qualified in room 4 and finished 6th and 30th overall. Week 2 qualified room 5 finished 3rd for 35th overall. This week qualified room 5 finished 3rd for 35th overall. After last week I was in 38th place overall and 15th out of 45 rookies. Standings for this week will be up in a couple days.
This next race is sunset full I figure I'm going to reduce the areo all the way down. still looking for some pointers on the basic tuning if anybody is interested in helping me. Everyone I have raced with has loved the paint.

Thanks for the update Qbert, and I'm glad everyone is liking the paint!! Since you are running Sunset Full I would suggest running low downforce since top speed is more important than handling there.

Week 4 in the books, absolutely my best race to date overall. Qualified in room 3 for Sunset Full with a 1.40:589 started in 5th place in room 3, took my pit stop very early end of lap 5 hoping to spend the rest of the laps chasing everyone down. about lap 11 early pit seemed to work to my advantage when 3 cars took there pits and advanced up to 4th, battled back and forth with a guy for 4 laps every time we hit the banking to start the speed stretch we switched positions. On lap 15 I had taken 4th back for the 3rd time as I crossed the line I started my angle to take the kink and I guess just got greedy and got to close to the tire wall.and spun out. was able to get turned around and fought back to finish 7th. Final standings for the Series after 4 weeks. Jumped 6 spots to #29 out of 98 and from 15th to 10th in the Rookie standings.
Next Thursday is Catalunya Grand Prix

For Catalunya I would try downforce at 75% and see how it handles. This is kinda of a speed track with the couple long straights and a couple short straights. Then add full downforce and compare your times. The tire pressure I would leave the same every race. Probably is the neighborhood of 28.5 front and 27-26.5 in the rear. the go do a few laps and see how they are heating up.

Thanks alot AR I really appreciate the advice. Thats what I have been doing up to this point with the Down force. Basicly on Sunday and Monday nights I run 10 laps with 0 Down force then 10 laps with 90 and then with 135 I found that anything over 135 doesn't make for better times. What should I be looking for as far as the tire temps? because I have been running my pressure at 28.5 on the front and back at the recommendation of another driver. I have never changed it since the first race, and he never said how he came to those settings.

If you are not having problems with your tires then keep those settings. The reason for the higher temp in the front and lower temp in the back is that the drive tires heat up faster than the non drive tires, so this helps out with them heating up at the same time, kinda. If I remember right I think the temp you want to be around is 200-220.

Ok IFCA Spec Week 5 update: Qualifying was crucial this week with less than 400ths of a second separating the 8 guys in my room. Ok so qualified with a 2.01:622 which put me in room 3 in 5th place. Race started off pretty clean with no issues, arround the final left turn before the chicanes made contact with another racer as he slid up to pass on the inside we both ended up in the sand and fell back to 7th and 8th place (me in 7th). Pitted on lap 6 to get it out of the way and droping me to 8th. spent the next 14 laps just killing it. I was on my marks and crushing the times hit 2.00.xxx 7 times. Around the end of lap 20 I caught up with 7th place and passed him on the final corner. lap 22 I caught up with 6th place in turns 1 and 2 and passed him on the inside of the sweeping right turn (turn 3) about that time the other drivers were starting to notice the times I was laying down and talk about the groove I had found. at the finish I had closed about a 1000 feet on 5th and sure if I had had 1 more lape could have closed the final 250 Great race overall. Final standings for week 5 has me moving up 4 spots to 25th overall (WooHoo!!!) and 3 spots in the rookie standings to 7th. Next week Motegi Full

Thanks AR you guys and your support have made this a real blast to do. Well This weeks update is late due to issues with penalties being handed out for cutting pit lane. Seems like there were allot of people, 15 by my count so far who cut the lanes in some form or other (I was perfect entering the pit). In my Practice runs I had been running mid to low 2:11.xxx's But on lap 3 of 4 in Qualifying, I ran off the edge making the right hander at the end of the back straight and uncertified both laps. So my time for qualifying was 2:12.073. Needles to say I was worried about what lobby I would end up in. Turns out it was good enough to keep me in lobby 3 and start in 8th place (whew barely made it) for the record had I put in a time I had run earlier in the day it was verry possible for me to have made lobby 2 this week. Times were all a little high across the board. Race starts off solid with me making a quick move on turn 2 of the first lap to snag 7th. on lap 3 I slipped into 6th due to a mistake in shift by GLR Lothar in th chicane on the back side of the track (turns 5,6,7) fought hard with Captain Doony for 5th place for 10 laps or so when he made a mistake in the same section as Lothar. About lap 16 I realize Captin Doony and I hadn't pitted yet and none of the front runners had pitted either, but 7th and 8th place had. My wife even asked me about pitting I said I was waiting for a front runner to pit and try and make a move for 4th(1600ft in front of me). Doony(6th) herd me and said he was waiting for me to pit. and we chuckled. Finally around lap 18 I got worried cause Lothar had made up some time and I wasn't making any progress on 4th and my hands were getting tired. Coming out of the pit Lothar snagged 5th from me and was able to grab about 700ft. on me. I closed that distance to 110 ft on the last lap. I honestly feel if I had pitted on Lap 16 when I first thought about it I WOULD have finished in 5th and possibly 4th. But not to bad with a screwed up qualifying run and starting in the back of the pack. Will let you know where the standings are at as soon as penelties are handed out and points finalized.

OK Time for the weekly update. Still no word on the currant standings when qualifying started. Apparently the IFCA board members are still trying to decide what if any penalties are to be handed out to the 20 or so drivers who ran off the road for one reason or another while trying to enter the pit on Motegi. So as far as I know I am still in 25th overall out of 97 drivers and 7th out of 45 in the rookie standings with 2 races unaccounted for. Now on to week 7 at Silverstone. I screwed up qualifying again and missed my practice times by almost 1.5 seconds. I honestly thought I was going to end up in room 5, but I got lucky I think due to the holiday and others not being on there game either. Qualified in room 3 again 6th from the poll. Some superb racing in Lobby 3 this week and some pictures to prove it. Just before GO: Not sure why the grid isint a little more bunched up but ohh well Lap 1 Turn 1 Lap 1 Turn 5 Lap 1 Turn 11: A picture with every car in the room Woo Hoo! Lap 2 Turn 1: 4th through 8th Still tightly grouped. Lap 4 Turn 7: #771 PpR YT RICE makes a mistake and goes to wide into the sweeper and I edge into 3rd place Lap 7 Turn 1: #533 Kimaira and I battling for 1st after #229 Mehavenofear29 made his pit stop (seen comming out of the pit in the background) I didnt actualy take first till lap 8 Lap 11 Pit lane: Me giving up 1st place to #533 Kimaira. When I cam out of the pit I had dropped to 6th 3 laps in first Place I have never been in first felt Great! Lap 13: #25 Inviseco Taking 1st place from #533 Kimaira who up to this point I think is the only one to not pit yet. Lap 21 Final turn: 2nd through 5th on the final corner of Lap 21 this is where #533 Kimaira finally makes his pit. Lap 22 : #223 GLR BOOST made a mistake coming out of the chicane allowing me to pull along side and take the inside of turn 7 Putting me in second where I finished. Best finish for me ever! Freaking Awesome race!! the first time in the series I have led any laps and a second place finish with as close as everyone was (normally by lap 25 there are some huge gaps) I am ecstatic. Last week of the series is at Le Mans Bugatti currently running 1:52's hopefully before that race starts I can update you guys and galls on standings

Thanks "Shoot Em Up"
Standings were posted this morning. Due to how many people screwed up the pit entrance and the fact that nobody was blatantly cutting the corners to gain time or position. Everyone was given a formal warning and asked to make sure they practice there pit entrances. So on to the good stuff.
Standings after 7 races I moved up 8 spots to 17th place in the overall. WOW!!! In the Rookie standings I moved up 6 spots to 2nd OMG!!!! My goal was to finish in the top 20 overall and to just break the top 10 in rookies and I have far far exceeded my expectations. Unfortunately there is 76 points separating me and "Adman and Jeezy" for first. He would have to qualify real real low or not show up for the final race for me to take 1st in the rookie standings. As far as the overall standings go with the top 10 guys mostly being from TRC and GLR 15th place may be doable if I bring my A game in the qualifying and race. Wish me luck.
Ohhh and tell me what you guys think of the picture commentary rather than just the description I have been doing. It took 3 hours to watch 25 laps, take the photos and do all the up loading just wondering if it was worth it or do you guys eve care. lol

It's been a long 8 weeks and a fun well organized event. I haven't had time to watch the replay and grab pics of the last race. qualified for lobby 3 again 8th position. Finished in 6th. not a great race for me I was pressing and made some mistakes. almost caused a major accident in lap 20 making a recklass move for 4th. it all worked out though and I was really the only one to suffer. Finished 2nd in the Rookie standings and 18th overall not to bad for my first foray into organized racing. I won a Ferrari 250 GTO in a drawing for 100% attendance. How sweet is that! Final standings Rookie Standings Keep your eyes open I will keep you guys updated on the next set of series coming up.
